PANAM SPORTS CHANNEL WILL BE THE WORLD’S OFFICIAL CHANNEL FOR THE SANTIAGO 2023 PARAPAN AMERICAN GAMES

After the success achieved during the Pan American Games with more than 20 million visits and 950,000 subscribers, Panam Sports Channel will broadcast the Parapan American Games with six live signals daily.

SANTIAGO, CHILE (November 13, 2023) — The Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games begin this Friday where more than 2,000 athletes from 31 countries will battle for medals and direct qualification to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in several sports.

The Games feature a total of 17 sports and 18 disciplines, including: Para-athletics, Boccia, Goalball, Badminton, Swimming, Powerlifting, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Archery, Shooting Sport, Track Cycling, Road Cycling, Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball, Judo and Football. The sport of football will be divided in to two disciplines — blind 5-a-side football and CP football for athletes with cerebral palsy.

Unlike the Pan American Games, these Games will take place entirely in the Chilean capital. The National Stadium Park, Florida Bicentennial Stadium, Chimkowe Gymnasium, Peñalolén Park, Lo Espejo Community Sports Center, Pudahuel Shooting Range and Maipo Island serving as the venues.

The Panam Sports Channel — after its successful live broadcast of the Pan American Games where more than 20 million viewers and nearly one million one subscribers witnessed the action — is preparing to bring the Parapan American sports festival to all homes and mobile devices.

An unprecedented broadcast of the Parapan American Games will take place from November 17 to 26 in the Chilean capital, with 6 live signals in Spanish and English, and more than 600 hours offering the best of Parapan American sports.

Virtually all sports will be broadcast on the Channel: swimming; para-athletics; wheelchair basketball, PC football, blind football, goalball, wheelchair rugby, powerlifting, shooting sports and judo.

The Panam Sports Channel’s unprecedented broadcast of the Parapan American Games will begin this Friday, November 17 at 8:30 p.m. with the Opening Ceremony. The celebration will feature the traditional parade of delegations and a spectacular show by prominent Chilean artists such as Beto Cuevas, Denise Rosenthal, Pablo Chill-E and Anita Tijoux.
