The vote for the Athletes Commission of the International Olympic Committee will be held From July 18th to August 6th. From our continent there are six athlete candidates that will compete for a place and represent all athletes from our region in the best possible way.
The current Athletes Commission of the IOC has 23 members from all over the world. There are only two representatives from our continent: Allyson Felix and Oluseyi Smith.
Their main goal is to guarantee that the athletes interests remain at the center of the decisions made by the Olympic Movement, since it represents future, current, and recently retired Olympic athletes. Their mission is to represent athletes within the Olympic Movement and offer the support necessary for the athletes’ success in their sports careers and beyond.
Therefore, it is essential that our continent is adequately represented in this Commission.
The vote will be held as usual during the Olympic Games, at the Athletes’ Commission stand between July 18th and August 6th.

Mariana Pajón Colombia: Triple Olympic medalist in BMX, six times World Champion, and three times Pan American Champion, recognized as one of the best athletes in Colombian history.
Enrique Arathoon El Salvador: Sailing athlete, has represented his country in the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Allyson Felix United States: Fourteen times World Champion, seven times Olympic Champion in athletics. One of the top athletes in the history of US athletics.
Emiliano Hernández Mexico: Silver world medalist in Modern Pentathlon and twice champion at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. He is the flag bearer for Mexico in Paris 2024.
Kahena Kunze Brazil: Double Olympic gold medalist in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. Nine times World medalist and twice Pan American champion in Lima 2019 and Santiago 2023.
Melissa Mojica Puerto Rico: Judo athlete, double silver medalist in Pan American Games, fourteen times Pan American championships medalist, and twice champion at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
