DON’T MISS AMERICAS TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIP LIVE ON PANAM SPORTS CHANNEL

Great triathletes throughout the continent will meet on October 29 in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay to compete in the Americas Triathlon Championship. More than 200 athletes from 20 countries will participate in the event that will be live-streamed on the Panam Sports Channel.

Triathlon is the next sport to join Panam Sports’ mission of promoting sport throughout the continent and the world on the Panam Sports Channel. The fourth edition of Americas Triathlon Championship take place in Montevideo, Uruguay on October 29 and 30 and will be shown live on the the destination for sport in the Americas.

A total of 205 athletes representing Argentina, Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela will compete in the championship.

Swimming takes place in the bay of Playa Ramirez that typically sports calm waters. The eight-lap and 5-kilometer cycling circuit travels through the Rambla Golf Club and Playa Ramirez that features good asphalt and wide paths. The same cycling circuit will then be used for the running portion of the event consisting of four laps and 2.5 kilometers.

The championship will feature events in six categories for both men and women, including: Elite, U-23, Junior, Age Group, Youth and U-15.

Cash prizes are also on the table for the elite category in both the men’s and women’s events for the top-five finishers. 1st: 750 USD, 2nd: 625 USD, 3rd: 500 USD, 4th 375 USD; 5th $250.

One of the top athletes who will compete in the championship is Anahi Alvarez of Mexico. The rising triathlete shined at the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games by winning the women’s triathlon gold as well as two more golds in athletics in the 1,500m and 5,000m events. The incredible performance set a new record for a multisport gold medalist while also directly qualifying to the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games in each event.
