The accredited media who will cover the I Junior Pan American Games of Cali-Valle 2021 I gathered November 24 in the Gran Salon of the Intercontinental Hotel. Organizing Committee President Baltazar Medina, Panam Sports President Neven Ilic and Caleño pop star and singer Fanny Lu were the guests of honor who answered the questions posed by the more than 100 journalists in attendance.

“These Games are a way of sending a message of hope to the whole world through sport, about everything we are able to achieve in order to recover and get out of this crisis,” said Cali 2021 President Baltazar Medina when asked about the importance of these Games.

Panam Sports President Neven Ilic acknowledged the difficulties that existed prior to hosting the Games in Colombia.

“The pandemic affected everything. We entered a state of confinement as a result of the isolation decision in March of last year and we understood that it was a compelling reason to take time to decide if we were all in a position to move forward. We are very happy and excited that this youth festival is about to begin. We have all made a tremendous effort for our athletes. This generation of athletes represents the future of our continent and that is why we are giving our all for them, ‘All For You’,” said Ilic.

The singer from Cali, Fanny Lu, revealed a few details about her performance at the Cali 2021 Opening Ceremony taking place tomorrow, November 25.

“I am going to sing the national anthem at Pascual Guerrero. Tomorrow I am going to enjoy that moment very much. We have a very nice show with more than 600 dancers who will accompany us. We are going to sing the song ‘Te Pido Flores’, which I treasure very much. Of course there will also be salsa,” Fanny Lu told the reporters in attendance.

Cali 2021 Media Services delivered the final press guide at the end of the conference. The guide outlines all the services they have at their disposal to carry out their coverage, the places to which they will have access and the operation of the transport system during the Games.
