PANAM SPORTS SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH FINIS TERRAE UNIVERSITY FOR “YOUNG REPORTERS” PROGRAM AT SANTIAGO 2023

Panam Sports President Neven Ilic and the Rector of Finis Terrae University, Cristian Nazer, participated in the signing ceremony of the collaboration agreement between the continental sports organization and the university’s School of Journalism.

There are only 52 days left until the start of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games and the different stakeholders of this great sporting event are beginning to assemble their teams for “Games Time”, the period covering the entirety of the event from the Opening to the Closing Ceremony.

In that regard, Panam Sports and its communications and marketing team are forming a group of professionals for complete coverage of the Games. The talented team includes professionals from the Panam Sports Channel, the Xpressmedia Photo Agency, the Athlete Booster Agency and the Barracuda Advertising Production Company.

Today, young journalism students are joining the team to cover the Games with the “Young Reporters” program. These university students will experience what it’s like to work at the Pan American Games while they develop their skills in the field of sports journalism.

Panam Sports signed an important agreement with the Finis Terrae University in Chile that will allow 50 outstanding students from the university’s School of Journalism to assist the Panam Sports Communications Team and news delivery service during the Games this October and November.

“We are very happy with this agreement. We know the prestige of this University and we, as Panam Sports and our communications team, want to help future professionals have the experience of working at the Pan American Games,” said Panam Sports President Neven Ilic.

“I have seen a lot of desire and motivation from these students. They will have to work a lot, because it is non-stop work during the Games, but they will have the opportunity of receiving an unforgettable experience by covering all the sports at the venues and interviewing the world’s greatest athletes,” the IOC Member added.

“We are very grateful to Panam Sports for trusting our University and our students for this project. This is a great opportunity to participate in these Games from within. The experience that they are going to have will be the experience of a lifetime. I am sure that we are not going to disappoint them because I know the quality of students and teachers that we have, and I know that they will do it very professionally,” said Finis Terrae University Rector Cristian Nazer.

The Santiago 2023 Pan American Games are in the final stretch. The Opening Ceremony will take place on October 20, and thanks to this recently signed agreement, Panam Sports will have historical coverage of this sporting event with the support of outstanding students from Finis Terrae University.
