SOUTH AMERICA’S GIANT IS GOING FOR ITS FOURTH TITLE AT THE SOUTH AMERICAN GAMES

Brazil will travel to Santa Fe 2026 with a top-tier delegation with the goal of topping the medal count, just as it did in 2002 and 2014. One Olympic champion, three Olympic medalists, and 14 world championship medalists round out the roster.

Brazil is by far the country that has won the most medals in the history of the South American Games.

Since 1978, it has won 2,568 medals, 940 of which were gold, leaving Colombia (873) and Argentina (583) far behind.

For this new edition of South America’s premier sporting event, Team Brasil has confirmed the presence of a constellation of world-class athletes who will be traveling in the coming days to Argentina, specifically to the province of Santa Fe.

The list is rounded out by three Olympic medalists and 14 world champions, reflecting that the South American giant has taken this competition very seriously.

Perhaps the most prominent figure in Brazilian athletics today is Alison dos Santos, the new 400-meter hurdles record holder and recent Diamond League champion in Brussels.

Below, we detail Brazil’s top athletes for the regional event, which begins on September 12 in Rosario, Santa Fe, and Rafaela.
