TENSION AND EXCITEMENT IN THE FIRST DAY OF ESPORTS

The first Pan American Esports Championship began, where athletes played eFootball and Dota 2 simultaneously.

The first day of the Pan American Esports Championship was full of excitement from the audience and competitive matchups in the men’s and women’s group stages of the Dota 2 and eFootball games. Despite the simultaneous matches, athletes are excited about the opportunity and are comfortable, anticipating days of excitement in the world of esports.

In Dota 2, teams faced off in the group stage, including Peru against Venezuela, Argentina against Cuba, Colombia against Costa Rica and Ecuador against Chile. In the eFootball group stage, 24 countries participated, excluding Chile, which has already qualified for the quarterfinals. The finals are scheduled for November 3 and 4 and will be broadcast live on the Panam Sports Channel.

The eFootball matches are one-on-one, with each player accompanied by their coach. The matches were held in groups A to F, where each country secured a spot in the quarterfinals by winning two out of the three matches to be played.

“The tournament atmosphere is very nice. Everything, with the screens, the lights, the stage, the TVs in the background to broadcast the matches, creates a very nice atmosphere. As for the match itself, it was very tough. I drew the two matches and won twice in penalties,” said Lautaro Rais, an eFootball athlete from the Argentine delegation.

In Dota 2, teams compete in five-on-five matches, also best of three, with a 10-minute break between games. The atmosphere was more lively than in the previous game, with more people supporting the local athletes.

“I was really comfortable because normally, when you go somewhere else to play, you bring your own devices. Here, they provide all the accessories, and they are quite comfortable. I adapted well, but I’m not sure about the others. At least my teammates have told me that everything has been very good,” said Colombia’s Leonardo Saenz.

The women’s matches for both games took place in the afternoon of the same day. In eFootball, eight countries played, including Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, Panama and Ecuador. In Dota 2, six countries participated, including Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, Peru and Colombia.

“I am happy because women were taken into account for this important event, the Pan American Esports. I have very good feelings for the future and my future in this competition, so I am very happy,” said Paraguay’s athlete Verónica Chavez.
