YOUNG REPORTERS PROGRAM CONFIRMED FOR ASU 2025

During the last visit of President Neven Ilic to Paraguay, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between Panam Sports, the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and the Universidad Autónoma de Asunción, which ensures the participation of students from the Journalism and Audiovisual Communication careers in the coverage of the II Junior Pan American Games ASU2025.

On May 28, 2025, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Pan American Sports Organization, Panam Sports, represented by its President, Mr. Neven Ilic Álvarez, the Olympic Committee of Paraguay represented by its President, Camilo Pérez and the Universidad Autónoma de Asunción, represented by its Rector, Dr. Kitty Gaona Franco.

The agreement between both organizations aims to implement the “Young Reporters Program” for the Junior Pan American Games Asuncion 2025, where young students of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication of the Autonomous University of Asuncion, Paraguay, will be part of the working staff of Communications and Broadcast of Panam Sports, living a highly enriching work experience for the academic and personal development of each one of them.

The Universidad Autónoma de Asunción committed to provide a total of 30 students from both careers, along with 2 professors from the institution during the development of the games, with the objective of joining the work force of the Pan American Sports Organization, becoming key players in the generation of content and general information of the ASU 2025 Games.

Panam Sports will provide official accreditations to students and professors, in addition to ensuring the necessary facilities to be able to fulfill their work as journalists and audiovisual communicators in this historic event.

“We are very happy with this agreement we have signed with the Universidad Autónoma de Asunción. We have been developing this Young Reporters Program since the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, where young university students have the opportunity to live and be part of the great continental sports festival, in an experience that will undoubtedly be unforgettable for all of them. This is part of the commitment of Panam Sports with young people who in the future will be great communications professionals. We wish them the best of success in ASU2025 and thank them for their work and passion for sports,” said Panam Sports President Neven Ilic.

The ASU2025 Pan American Games will take place between August 9 and 23 and will include the participation of 4 countries and more than 4,000 athletes from the continent.
