The enthusiasm for esports in the Americas is only just beginning. The momentum will be at an all-time high during the inaugural Pan American Esports Championships organized by the Global Esports Federation and Panam Sports that will run to the 19th edition of the Pan American Games.

The marquee event organized by GEF is set to feature three globally renowned esports titles – eFootball™ 2023, DOTA 2, and the Street Fighter Series.

eFootball™ 2023
eFootball™ 2023 is a revolutionary football simulation game. Konami has transformed this title into a platform that strives for innovation, user experience, and recreation of the perfect football environment.

Using the newly implemented game engine, eFootball is taking football simulation to another level, from environmental graphics to player movement. eFootball™ 2023 is the new generation of football gaming and is completely free to play across mobile, PC, and console devices.

DOTA 2 is a 5v5 MOBA owned by Valve. A multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) is a sub-genre of strategy video games in which two teams of players compete against each other on a predefined battlefield.

Each player controls a single character with a set of distinctive abilities that improve over the course of a game and which contribute to the team’s overall strategy. The ultimate objective is for each team to destroy their opponent’s main structure, located at the opposite corner of the battlefield.

Street Fighter Series
With cumulative sales exceeding 48 million units worldwide, Street Fighter is one of Capcom’s most celebrated games and has excited fans throughout the world since its debut more than 30 years ago. In recent years Street Fighter has been a driving force in the esports versus fighting game category, further enhancing its presence.

In just seven months’ time, spectators will be able to watch these esports titles make history as they are featured in the PEC23 alongside the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. More information will be shared with the respective National Olympic Committees and GEF Member Federations as detailed plans surrounding the championships are confirmed.
